TOURNAMENT RULES

Webvio Table Tennis Championship 2026

1. Tournament Format

  • 30 players are divided into 6 groups of 5 players each.
  • Every player competes against every other player in their group.
  • A total of 60 league matches will be played.
  • The top 16 players qualify for the knockout stage.

2. Match Format

  • Each match consists of a single game.
  • The first player to reach 11 points wins.
  • If the score reaches 10-10, play continues until one player leads by 2 points.

3. Points System

4. Group Ranking

Players are ranked using the following criteria in order:

  1. Total Points
  2. Total Wins
  3. Point Difference (Points Scored − Points Conceded)
  4. Player Name (Alphabetical Order)

5. Qualification

  • The top 16 players across all groups qualify.
  • Qualification is based on the overall rankings.
  • The knockout bracket will be generated automatically.

6. Walkover

  • If a player fails to report within the allotted time, the match may be declared a walkover.
  • The Tournament Committee's decision will be final.

7. Sportsmanship

  • Respect opponents, officials, and spectators.
  • Unsporting behaviour may lead to warnings or disqualification.
  • Fair play is expected from all participants.

8. Tournament Committee

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to interpret, modify, or enforce these rules whenever necessary. All decisions made by the committee shall be final.
